The Ireland Women’s National Team is set to face off against England and France in their final two Group A3 matches as part of the EURO 2025 qualifying campaign.
Head Coach Eileen Gleeson has named a 26-player squad for the upcoming games. They will first play against European champions England at Carrow Road on Friday, July 12th, followed by a match against France at Páirc Uà Chaoimh on Tuesday, July 16th.
Defender Niamh Fahey, midfielder Denise O’Sullivan, and attacker Marissa Sheva are back in the squad, while injuries have ruled out Chloe Mustaki, Tara O’Hanlon, Jamie Finn, Heather Payne, and Kyra Carusa.
Midfielder Julie-Ann Russell, with 60 caps, has been called up after showcasing outstanding performances for Galway United. The team has already sold over 10,000 tickets for the match at Páirc Uà Chaoimh, and fans are encouraged to secure their seats to support the Girls in Green in their first Cork appearance since 2012.
This will be the first time in 12 years that the WNT will play a home game outside Dublin, marking their seventh game in Cork. The France game will be the 13th meeting at the senior women’s level and the third time the two teams play in Cork.
All games on Match Day 6 of the group stage will kick off at 19:00 CET (18:00 Irish Time) as confirmed by UEFA.
