After Peyton and Eli Manning kicked off their fifth season with coverage of the Minnesota Vikings’ victory over the Chicago Bears, the beloved alternative broadcast hit pause, leaving viewers with a familiar question that haunts multi-game Monday nights.

Why Is the ManningCast Missing from Week 2’s Monday Night Football?

The ManningCast will not air during Week 2’s Monday Night Football doubleheader, which features the Tampa Bay Buccaneers at the Houston Texans and the Los Angeles Chargers at the Las Vegas Raiders. This absence follows the show’s established pattern from previous seasons.

Monday Night Football in Week 2 will look dramatically different with two games airing back-to-back. However, like in past seasons, the popular ManningCast sits out these multi-game weeks, leaving fans to wait for the brothers’ return.

The Manning brothers and their guests will return on Week 3 (September 22, 2025), when the Detroit Lions take on the Baltimore Ravens on Monday Night Football. The game starts at 8:15 p.m. ET, marking the first ManningCast since the season opener. This matchup carries extra significance as both teams enter as Super Bowl contenders sharing similar 2025 journeys. Both lost in Week 1 to strong conference opponents, but bounced back with resounding multi-score victories in Week 2.

The guests for Week 3 have yet to be announced. The show featured Eagles running back Saquon Barkley, former Vikings receiver Randy Moss, and Bears superfan and actor Bill Murray during Week 1.

Now in its fifth season, the ManningCast has become a Monday Night Football staple since its debut. Its casual conversations and celebrity guests provide an alternative viewing experience for football fans. The show is scheduled to air twelve times this season, with 11 games in the regular season and one game in the Wild Card round.

Following Week 3’s return, the ManningCast will be off again in Week 4, then return for the Kansas City Chiefs at the Jacksonville Jaguars in Week 5.
