The ISTAF Berlin meeting is one of the oldest continuous athletics meetings in the world. The first ISTAF was held on 3 July 1921 in Berlin, and since 1937, it has been held in the 1936 Olympic stadium. Over the years, many amazing performances have taken place at ISTAF Berlin, and this year was no exception.

ISTAF IN BERLIN’S OLYMPIC STADIUM
Mary Moraa broke the 600m world record at the recent ISTAF event in Berlin.
Mary Moraa from Kenya set a new world record for the 600 meters at the ISTAF in Berlin’s Olympic Stadium. She amazed the 40,500 spectators with her precise performance, achieving a time of 1:21.63 minutes and improving the world’s best time by 14 hundredths of a second.
Other outstanding performances included Julian Weber’s javelin throw and Sam Kendricks clearing a height of 6.01 meters in the pole vault. Leo Neugebauer triumphed in the ISTAF triathlon, and Gina Lückenkemper set a new personal best in the 100-meter race.
The Olympic shot put champion Yemisi Ogunleye also competed, but had to settle for second place behind Jessica Schilder from the Netherlands.
