TEMPE, Ariz. – The final week of the ITA Community Service Challenge is here. For the past two months, college tennis programs across the country have engaged in this initiative aimed to get players back into their local communities through various acts of service.

Nearly 200 activities and hundreds of hours of service were logged throughout October and November. The University of Idaho men’s team has been the most active amongst all participating men’s programs, charting 11 separate acts of service ranging from community tennis clinics, after-school programs at a local elementary school, a Halloween game night and more.

The Louisiana at Lafayette women’s team has reported 16 total activities of community involvement, leading all women’s programs thus far, as the Ragin Cajuns’ have immersed themselves locally through events at food shelters, animal shelters, a nearby children’s hospital and more.

Following the official completion of the challenge, the team that finishes with the most points (based on total community service hours and the number of student-athletes participating in each activity) will receive $1,500, the distinction of being the ITA National Community Service Award winners, and the head coach will receive an all expenses paid trip to the 2026 Nitto ATP Finals courtesy of Dunlop.

The program finishing as the runner-up will receive $1,000 and a Dunlop prize package. Two random drawings will also be held in addition to these first and second place prizes in which any team who completes at least 50 service hours will be eligible for (1), as well any team that posts their community service projects on social media with the hashtag, #CollegeTennisServes (2) will be eligible for a $500 prize.

As the challenge reaches its final week, teams continue to have the chance to give back to their communities before the end of the month. If you or someone you know is interested in setting up a community event at a school near you, we highly encourage you to contact that program to begin planning the event.

About the ITA Community Service ChallengeThe Intercollegiate Tennis Association announced the return of the ITA Community Service Challenge, a two month initiative for programs to give back to their communities that builds on the success and groundwork of the previously held ITA Community Service Month.

Set to take place over the months of October and November, any ITA member program is eligible to participate in the ITA Community Service Challenge. With prizes for the top finishers, programs will be going head-to-head earning points based on total community service hours and the number of student-athletes participating in each activity.
