Tempe, AZ – The second weekend of play has concluded from the 2024 ITA Summer Points Race Series powered by WTN and the ITA Summer Masters Series powered by WTN. With ten ITA Summer Points Race Series tournaments and one ITA Summer Masters Series tournament in week two, many players yielded impressive results in what was the second of six straight weekends of play.
During week two, $5,500 in prize money was handed out to competitors, while eight more players (four men and four women) earned their spots into the ITA National Summer Championships powered by WTN with their finishes in the ITA Summer Masters Series.
Beginning with the ITA Summer Masters Series, Baylor welcomed players during week two, hosting men’s players with a minimum WTN of 10.0 and the women’s players with a minimum WTN of 17.0. With only singles draws, these athletes were playing for $3,000 in total prize money as well as for a qualifying spot in the ITA National Summer Championships where $20,000 in total prize money awaits.
Those victorious this past weekend in Waco were Oskar Poulsen (Baylor) on the men’s side and Alanis Hamilton on the women’s side. Poulsen just concluded his junior season at Baylor while Hamilton will be a rising senior in high school and is listed as the No. 2 ranked player in the 2025 recruiting class by Tennis Recruiting Network.
The remaining ITA National Summer Championship qualifiers include Grant Lothringer (Texas A&M), Lucas Brown (Texas), and Marko Miladinovic (Baylor) for the men and Kennedy Gibbs (Baylor), Micah Pierce (Tulane), and Sierra Berry (Baylor) for the women.
Across ITA Summer Points Race Series play in week two, over 900 players competed during the second weekend of competition as all players look to climb up the ITA Summer Points Race Standings.
Players coming out victorious include Shaurya Bharadwaj, Joaquin Benoit (North Georgia), Joshua Howard Tripp (Louisville), Armando Morales (New Mexico State), Max Bengtsson (Northwestern), Justin Lamy (UC Riverside), Egor Morozov, Vander Woody (Xavier LA), Sacha Maes (Tufts), Luke Bracks (Wichita State) for the men. On the women’s side, it was Marissa Pennings (Furman), Autumn Clemons, Leyla Britez (Tennessee), Ellise Jay, Gabrielle Guenther (Cincinnati), Makeilah Nepomuceno, Emily Buchanan (Dallas Baptist), Olivia Dorner (Penn State), Katya Shepherd-Johnson (MIT), and Sofia Acuna.
