Indiana’s 2025-26 roster will be built this spring by new coach Darian DeVries, who will navigate the transfer portal to assemble his first team in Bloomington.
Inside the Hall will examine some of the prospects linked to the Hoosiers this spring, beginning with DePaul guard Conor Enright.
Previously: Ryan Conwell, Josh Dix
Numbers to know
91 career games at Drake and DePaul: Six points, 3.3 assists, 2.7 rebounds, 0.8 steals in 24.2 minutes per game. Enright is a career 37.1 percent 3-point shooter, 66.9 percent free-throw shooter and shoots 42.9 percent overall from the field. He made 37 starts at Drake and 23 starts at DePaul.
Background and potential fit
Illinois native Conor Enright is a familiar name for new IU coach Darian DeVries.
The Mundelein High School product was a member of Drake’s 2021 recruiting class that also included Tucker DeVries.
In a release announcing his signing in November of 2020, DeVries had high praise for the 6-foot-2 point guard.
“I love Conor’s toughness, demeanor and the way he leads a team,” DeVries said of Enright in 2020. “He’s one of those guys that when he walks on the floor, everything around him is about winning, whether he’s scoring or not, Conor makes the plays he feels need to be made to win the game. I think our fans are going to love his playing style. He leaves it all out there.”
Enright redshirted in his first season at Drake and suited up for the Bulldogs for the first time in the 2022-23 campaign. He played in all 35 games for Drake and made four starts for a team that finished 27-8 and won the Missouri Valley conference tournament championship. He shot just 32.2 percent on 3s overall as a freshman but connected at a 40 percent clip in MVC games.
His role grew substantially as a redshirt sophomore in the 2023-24 season. Drake won 28 games and again cut down the nets in the Missouri Valley conference tournament championship, securing an NCAA tournament bid for a second straight season.
Enright started all 33 games he appeared in during the 2023-24 campaign and averaged 6.9 points, 3.2 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game. His 3-point shooting percentage improved to 43.9 percent (on 98 attempts) and he had the 11th-best assist rate in the MVC at 21.3 percent.
After DeVries left Drake for West Virginia after the 2023-24 season, Enright entered the transfer portal and transferred to DePaul, just 40 miles from Mundelein.
Statistically, Enright enjoyed his best season this winter as a junior under Chris Holtman at DePaul. Although his season was cut short by a shoulder injury that required surgery, Enright averaged 7.5 points, 6.2 assists and 3.3 rebounds in 23 games, all starts. His assist rate of 37.5 percent ranked 17th in the country and seventh nationally among high-major players. His turnover rate of 29.9 percent was a career-high and his assist-to-turnover ratio was 1.98-to-1.
The Illinois native scored a season-high 18 points and dished out nine assists in an 81-68 home loss to UConn on January 1. Enright had six or more assists in 16 games and had 11 assists in two games. He shot 32.2 percent on 3s and 65.5 percent from the free-throw line.
Enright entered the transfer portal earlier this spring and is scheduled to visit Iowa and Indiana this week before a dead period begins on April 3.
Given DeVries’ history with Enright and his need to fill the roster with experienced, productive players, this recruitment makes a lot of sense for the Hoosiers. Enright is known for his unselfishness, playmaking ability and hustle. He is extremely familiar with DeVries’ system from his three seasons at Drake.
