Standout star Ivan Buchinger is one of the few fighters who has competed in over 50 professional bouts. He will be making his 52nd appearance when he faces Lukasz Rajewski (13-9) on the upcoming Oktagon 59 card on July 20, 2024. Throughout his career, Buchinger has fought many great stars in the Octagon and cages around the world.
Early Combat Sports Days
Combat sports have been a part of Buchinger’s life since a young age. He started wrestling at the age of six and transitioned to MMA with friends Attila Vegh and Marian Nagy. Buchinger trained at MMA Spirit Frankfurt before making his professional debut in June 2008. He won 11 straight fights on the Slovak and Czech Republic regional scene before moving on to Cage Warriors.
On Cage Warriors: Fight Night 6 in May 2012, Buchinger scored a knockout win. His next Cage Warriors fight marked the beginning of a four-year undefeated streak in his career.
Facing Superstars
With over 50 professional fights, Buchinger has faced both good and bad memories. He particularly remembers his matchups with Conor McGregor and Mairbek Taisumov. The bout with McGregor, where he lost, remains one of the most memorable of his career. Buchinger also faced rising star Salahdine Parnasse at KSW 52 in December 2019 and predicted Parnasse’s future success.
