Standout star Ivan Buchinger is one of the few fighters who has competed in over 50 professional bouts. He will be making his 52nd appearance when he faces Lukasz Rajewski (13-9) on the upcoming Oktagon 59 card on July 20, 2024. Throughout his career, Buchinger has fought many great stars in the Octagon and cages around the world.

Early Combat Sports Days

Combat sports have been a part of Buchinger’s life since a young age. He started wrestling at the age of six and transitioned to MMA with friends Attila Vegh and Marian Nagy. Buchinger trained at MMA Spirit Frankfurt before making his professional debut in June 2008. He won 11 straight fights on the Slovak and Czech Republic regional scene before moving on to Cage Warriors.

On Cage Warriors: Fight Night 6 in May 2012, Buchinger scored a knockout win. His next Cage Warriors fight marked the beginning of a four-year undefeated streak in his career.

Facing Superstars

With over 50 professional fights, Buchinger has faced both good and bad memories. He particularly remembers his matchups with Conor McGregor and Mairbek Taisumov. The bout with McGregor, where he lost, remains one of the most memorable of his career. Buchinger also faced rising star Salahdine Parnasse at KSW 52 in December 2019 and predicted Parnasse’s future success.

Oktagon 59 Matchup

On July 20th, Buchinger will face the tough challenge of facing KSW veteran Lukasz Rajewski. Rajewski is known for finishing fights, with eight of his 13 wins coming by stoppage. Buchinger is excited for the matchup and hopes to deliver an entertaining fight for the fans. With a track record of 42 wins, including 25 by submission, Buchinger promises an exciting showdown.

I am a life-long MMA fan who has been a fan since UFC 1. I was born in Illinois but raised in South Louisiana, home of many great mixed martial artists. I started martial arts at the age of 4 and continued into my adult years where I served nearly 10 years in law enforcement. I feel my job is to convey the stories of the MMA fighters we enjoy to watch and share their stories with the world.
