Angel Reese’s fame continued to rise this WNBA offseason, culminating in a feature on the cover of Vogue magazine. However, Mariah Rose, Jalen Rose’s daughter, expressed her disapproval of the Chicago Sky star’s appearance in the popular publication.
In a TikTok post, Rose criticized Vogue for not allowing Reese to showcase her true self in the photoshoot for the magazine. Rose went on to discuss how the publication failed to use the right styling, background, colors, and more to highlight the WNBA star.
“I’m thrilled for Angel,” Mariah said. “I’m delighted to see a WNBA player on the cover of Vogue. … Angel Reese is a beautiful girl, and she looks stunning in these photos. I’m not a photographer, creative director, or stylist, but I believe that the styling choices, backgrounds, and lighting didn’t do justice to my girl.”
Mariah Rose also compared Reese’s Vogue photoshoot to other sessions, such as her graduation, media day with the Chicago Sky, and more, expressing more admiration for Reese’s appearance in those instances than in her Vogue feature.
Reese, along with Olympic track star Gabby Thomas, graced the cover of Vogue’s winter issue, underscoring her popularity and status as a fashion icon.
Despite her achievements, Reese remains focused on preparing for the inaugural season of Unrivaled, commencing on January 17 in Miami. She has been training in Florida, practicing with her Rose BC teammates, and gaining attention for a smooth layup assisted by Chelsea Gray.
Reese is part of the 36-player roster for Unrivaled, divided into six teams, with the season scheduled to run for two months, ending on March 17, approximately two months before the start of the 2025 WNBA season.
Angel Reese divulges her secret to radiant skin even during WNBA games
Angel Reese revealed to Vogue her skincare routine for radiant skin, highlighting the Korean brand Laneige as her go-to product, even during games or while on the bench.
“I don’t go anywhere without my Laneige,” Reese shared. “I have all of it. I always carry the Sleeping Mask with me. I keep my Laneige on the bench. That’s the key. Every time I go back to the bench during timeouts, the Laneige is there.”
Despite her growing popularity, Reese has encountered online hate and backlash. She temporarily deactivated her Instagram following negative comments about her New Year’s Eve attire, only to reactivate it a few days later.
