The New York Giants started the 2025 season 0-3 and continue to lack stability at the quarterback position.
Despite some heroics against the Cowboys in Week 2 that made him look like his previous self, Russell Wilson followed that up with a tough night last Sunday against the Chiefs. In his Week 3 Sunday Night Football performance, he finished with just 160 yards and a pair of interceptions, MetLife Stadium booed him, and on Monday, Brian Daboll refused to commit to Wilson as the starter moving forward.
On Tuesday, it was reported that rookie QB Jaxson Dart would be the one starting for the Giants in Week 4 against the Chargers.
The move for Dart to be the guy was expected, but it did come earlier than most predicted. The Giants do have veteran Jameis Winston they could turn to, but are opting instead to go with Dart — they’re already winless, so it can’t get much worse.
If the Giants are committed to Dart and to developing him as he gets live game reps and experience, the Eagles could be facing the rookie in just a couple weeks. The NFC East matchup will be at MetLife Stadium on Oct. 9 for Thursday Night Football. Then the Eagles play the Giants again two weeks later in Week 8.
