In Manila, Philippines, Jerwin Ancajas secured a disqualification victory over Sukpraserd Ponpitak in their featherweight bout at the Mandaluyong City College Gym. The fight, part of the “Blow-By-Blow” boxing series, was cut short in the fifth round due to repeated fouls by the Thai veteran.
Ancajas, a former IBF junior bantamweight champion, dominated the fight from the start, dropping Ponpitak early with a right hook in the first round. Despite Ponpitak’s rough tactics, including excessive holding and pushing, the referee eventually disqualified him in the fifth round.
While the victory was somewhat tainted, Ancajas displayed his skills and power throughout the fight. With a record of 35-4-2 (23 KOs), Ancajas looks to make a comeback in the world title picture, showcasing his talent and determination in the ring.
