Jesse ‘Bam’ Rodriguez spent time talking to boxing media about a number of topics including his upcoming career plans and how he breaks down some upcoming fights and others that are being targeted for this year. Check out some of what he had to say below.
Bam on how long before he moves up in weight
“I think next fight, maybe two more fights. If I can go undisputed I would love to do that. I know it’s not that hard, I think there’s maybe another fight or two after this one so we’ll see how this one plays out.”
On if he has interest in possibly fighting Inoue in Japan
“Yeah, I would love that fight in Japan. That’d be a huge opportunity. I have a lot of fans in Japan as well so that fight would be huge.”
On who he thinks wins Canelo vs Crawford
“I feel like Crawford has the edge in that one. I feel like he has more speed and skills than Canelo, but Canelo has the size advantage and he’s a very experienced fighter as well. So I think it’s just a matter of seeing what happens, but in that fight I favor Crawford.”
On how he sees a potential Teofimo vs Boots fight
“I’m not sure how it will go but I know it will be a great fight.”
On Barrios vs Pacquiao
“I feel like he has to keep Pacquiao on the outside. He has the height and the reach advantage so I feel like he just needs to go out there and do what he’s always done.
“[I predict] Mario Barrios victory. I think he has what it takes to stop Pacquiao.”
