Haason Reddick’s holdout is expected to continue into the regular season.
Despite Mike Lombardi’s report on Friday night that Reddick would report on Saturday, coach Robert Saleh confirmed that was not the case.
“I’ll stand firm that when he gets here, we’re going to welcome him with open arms,” Saleh said. “We’re going to love him up and he’s going to be a part of this football team and he’s going to help us win a lot of football games. He’s gotta sort through the financial stuff, which is none of my business.”
Reddick, who was acquired from the Eagles in March, has not participated in any team activities and continues to accumulate fines for each day missed.
He stands to lose roughly $800,000 for each game missed.
Reddick is dissatisfied with his current contract, but the Jets have made it clear that discussions will not take place until he reports to the team.
Although a two-time Pro Bowler, Reddick turned down a contract extension offer before the trade and is now seeking adjustments to his deal.
