Joe Rogan and Israel Adesanya showed their admiration for ONE Championship‘s dedication to showcasing Muay Thai and kickboxing.
During a recent episode of Rogan’s popular podcast, they discussed ONE’s bold move to diversify beyond MMA and how it has succeeded in showcasing striking-based martial arts to a global audience.
“I like how ONE offers a variety of disciplines like grappling, kickboxing, Muay Thai, and MMA. I believe this is the future,” Rogan mentioned.
In 2018, ONE Championship caused a stir by including various stand-up disciplines in its events.
Six years later, ONE has solidified its position as the top choice for elite strikers.
Their roster boasts prominent figures in Muay Thai and kickboxing such as Rodtang Jitmuangnon, Superlek Kitamoo9, Jonathan Haggerty, Superbon, Tawanchai PK Saenchai, Takeru Segawa, and Kana Morimoto.
Adesanya, a former UFC Middleweight World Champion and accomplished kickboxer, expressed his desire for North American organizations to follow ONE’s approach.
“They (ONE) recently hosted an event in Denver with intense fights and lots of action. With proper marketing like the UFC, it could be huge,” Adesanya noted.
Rogan agreed, stating that American audiences would likely appreciate the excitement of striking disciplines.
“Everyone loves KOs and stand-up fights. The lack of grappling leads to real KOs, attracting the best strikers globally similar to what ONE is doing,” Rogan added.
