Kate Martin has found a role with the Golden State Valkyries, and it’s clear she’s enjoying her time with the team — both on and off the court.
After losing her starting role with the team earlier in the season, Martin has developed into a reliable backup guard for the Valkyries. Entering Tuesday’s game against the New York Liberty, she was averaging 6.6 points, 2.6 rebounds and 1.0 assists while playing nearly 17 minutes per game.

Martin has been pivotal in helping the Valkyries — a team playing in its first WNBA season this 2025 — emerge as playoff contenders. Golden State is well on track to make the playoffs and potentially finish as a top-five seed.

Prior to their showdown with the Liberty, however, Martin made a statement in another area: fashion. When she arrived at Chase Center, she sported a $139 twill full zip shirt from Honor the Gift.
The 25-year-old guard, who was the 18th overall pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft, paired her attire with a long-sleeve shirt and matching tie. She also rocked a pair of denim jeans to keep the look casual.

Fans were quick to take notice of Kate Martin’s attire, sharing their comments on the team’s Instagram post about the players’ outfits.
“hiiii kate,” a commenter wrote. Another one said, “Kate Money Martin aka Golden Kate.”
A fan added, “@katemartin bro your fit goes crazy.”
Others heaped praise on the team as a whole, with one supporter writing, “Fashion game crazzzyyy.”
“Serving on the carpet and the court,” a fifth poster shared. A social media user added, “Work it, beautiful ladies!”

To top it all off, Martin impressed on the court against the Liberty. In the Valkyries’ 66-58 win, she finished with 11 points on 3-of-6 shooting from deep, along with three rebounds.
The Valkyries improved to 22-18 on the season as they remain the sixth seed in the standings. Golden State plays the Dallas Wings next on Thursday.
