Kate Martin and Caitlin Clark both played together at the University of Iowa.
Then, both Martin and Clark were selected in the 2024 WNBA Draft. Clark went No. 1 overall to the Indiana Fever, and Martin was the No. 6 pick in the second round by the Las Vegas Aces.
Martin was then selected by the Golden State Valkyries in the WNBA expansion draft after she played one season for the Aces.
In her first season with Golden State, Martin played in 42 games and averaged 6.2 points with 2.7 rebounds.
Martin and Clark have remained close friends despite playing on different WNBA teams, and they have plenty of memories after playing 139 games together with the Iowa Hawkeyes.
