Kate Martin Returns to Practice 3 Weeks After Injury With 37 YO Superfan as Aces Duo Builds On Wholesome Friendship

“She is a tough cookie.” Becky Hammon did not have specific details about Kate Martin’s injury following their upset by Chicago. However, she recognized the resilience of the Iowa alum. Indeed, the Kate ‘Money’ Martin we all know has returned to Sin City for some action. As she takes shots on the court, she is also building stronger connections, particularly with the President of the Kate Martin fan club– Alysha Clark.

The official Instagram account of the Las Vegas Aces shared a series of heartwarming photos from the recent practice session featuring Kate Martin and Alysha Clark. The caption read, “The vet 🤝 the rook.” Could it also be seen as the admirer and the icon? Back in June, the Aces proudly displayed their ‘The Martini” t-shirts from the Kate Martin fan club. “Kate Martin I am a part of the club,” she declared.

Not only is the former Hawkeye fitting in seamlessly with the back-to-back champions, but her injured ankle doesn’t seem to hold her back.

With seven days left before the Aces face their 2023 WNBA Finals rival– the New York Liberty, it’s heartening to see these players back in their jerseys doing what they love.

Speaking of love, Kate Martin has been busy off the court and doesn’t shy away from signs of a budding romance. She has certainly made the most of the WNBA’s Olympic break.

She seems to be relishing the unexpected joys Las Vegas and the Aces have brought her way. However, being part of the championship-winning team also poses its own challenges as they gear up to face their WNBA rivals on August 17 to kick off the 28th season.
