The Las Vegas Aces could surprise the WNBA with a potential move involving star Kelsey Plum. Despite winning championships in 2022 and 2023, Plum’s future with the team is uncertain after falling short of a third consecutive title.
According to Robin Lundberg, Plum may soon be traded.
“Kelsey Plum being on the move seems very possible via speculation from many reputable reporters,” he tweeted.
Kelsey Plum was drafted by the San Antonio Stars in 2017 and continued with the team as they became the Las Vegas Aces in 2018. With two championships and three All-Star appearances, Plum has been a standout player in her eight seasons, earning the All-Star Game MVP in 2022.
However, her time at Michelob ULTRA Arena may be ending following their recent playoff exit. Coach Becky Hammon hinted at potential changes to the roster.
“It’s not going to be the same group probably next year, it just won’t. And I’m sad about that because I really liked that group. They were a pain in my a** but I was a pain in their a** too, and I like that group. I love that group,” Hammon said.
With impressive stats averaging 14.3 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 4.0 assists per game, Plum has been a key player for the Aces, shooting efficiently from the field, three-point line, and free-throw line.

WNBA insider Annie Costabile believes that Kelsey Plum could find a new home on the West Coast. She suggests that the Seattle Storm could acquire Plum in a sign-and-trade deal involving Jewell Loyd. Additionally, Costabile mentions Los Angeles as a potential destination for Plum, despite the team’s current standing compared to the Aces.
Costabile envisions Plum as a catalyst for the Sparks, helping them turn their fortunes around alongside returning players and top draft picks.
