Kierstan Bell Helps Team to African Basketball League Bronze Medal

Las Vegas Aces guard Kierstan Bell averaged 15.8 points, 7.2 rebounds, 2.2 assists, 1.2 steals and 1.8 blocks per game in helping lead APR WBBD (Armée Patriotique Rwandaise Basketball Club women’s team) to a bronze medal finish over the weekend in the 2024 Africa Basketball League. Featuring senior club teams from across the continent, the WBLA is an annual tournament in December and hosted this year in Dakar, Senegal.
Bell teamed up with Las Vegas native Italee Lucas as their team finished with a 4-2 record. APR BBC Rwanda went 2-1 in the preliminary round, won its quarterfinal game 59-49, dropped its semifinal match 86-72 against eventual gold medalist CFM before rebounding in their final contest with a 96-94 victory over host ASCVD in the bronze medal game.
Starting off slow in her first two games, Bell exploded for 27 points, 8 rebounds and 4 assists to close out group play. She then averaged 18 points in the medal round, including 24 points in the bronze medal contest, including 5 of her team’s final 9 points to send the game into overtime.
