LeBron James is facing a bizarre lawsuit after one Lakers fan claimed the NBA superstar tricked him into spending hundreds of dollars following what turned out to be nothing more than a liquor commercial.
A frustrated Lakers fan is suing LeBron James after being “duped” by his Decision 2.0 Hennessy ad — which led him to buy two tickets to the Lakers’ final game, per TMZ.

29-year-old Lakers fan Andrew Garcia filed a small claims lawsuit in Los Angeles County, alleging James misled fans with his viral “Second Decision” teaser earlier this week, according to TMZ Sports.
Garcia says he believed LeBron was about to announce his retirement, not promote a Hennessy ad.
“When James on Monday teased he had a big choice to make,” Garcia told TMZ, “I figured The King meant he was hanging up his sneakers, so I raced to Ticketmaster to score some seats to what would be LBJ’s last-ever matchup with his former team, the Cleveland Cavaliers.”
Garcia bought two tickets for the March 31, 2026 game, spending $432.83 apiece, a total of $865.66.
But, when LeBron revealed on Tuesday that his big announcement was simply an ad for Hennessy VSOP, Garcia said the tickets “lost almost all of their value.”
In his lawsuit, Garcia accused James of “fraud, deception, misrepresentation, and any and all basis of legal recovery,” claiming, “I wouldn’t have purchased it if he wasn’t going to retire. Plain and simple.”
The now-infamous clip saw LeBron recreate his iconic 2010 ESPN special The Decision, even wearing the same outfit from the night he announced he was taking his talents to South Beach.
Many fans thought this “Second Decision” would bring closure to his storied career. Instead, it poured another glass of controversy.
Even Stephen A. Smith called out LeBron.
“If you play like garbage at any point in time when it really really counts, I’m going to think about that Hennessy commercial and wonder if you were drinking something before the game,” Smith said.
