The Los Angeles Lakers are in need of additional frontcourt depth to support Anthony Davis and Jaxson Hayes. They are looking towards Jarred Vanderbilt to fill that role once the regular season begins.
Vanderbilt is currently recovering from double foot surgery during the offseason. Lakers coach JJ Redick mentioned that the experienced forward is on track to make a return for the start of the regular season.
“He is following our ramp-up protocol,” Redick explained. “He has not engaged in any contact work or non-contact practice yet. However, we are aiming for him to be ready at the beginning of the season. Our ramp-up process is going according to plan. While his availability is still uncertain, there have been no setbacks, and he continues to make progress in his recovery.”
