The Los Angeles Lakers are currently exploring the market to acquire a center for their roster, sources have informed ESPN’s Shams Charania on NBA Today.
Jaxson Hayes, Christian Wood, and Christian Koloko are currently listed on the Lakers’ depth chart as centers behind Anthony Davis. Wood recently underwent surgery on his left knee, while Hayes has reportedly been making a strong impression during Lakers’ training camp.
If a potential center becomes available via trade, the Lakers have two future first-round picks that they can utilize to upgrade their center position.
Although the Lakers were previously interested in Jonas Valanciunas during free agency, Valanciunas ultimately decided to sign with the Washington Wizards.
