Becky Hammon’s coaching career in women’s hoops has been short but incredibly successful. Her two WNBA championships with the Las Vegas Aces serve as a source of inspiration for young female athletes striving for excellence.
After the University of Texas at San Antonio Roadrunners’ victory over the Wichita State Shockers, Hammon, who previously coached with the Spurs, visited the team’s locker room and took a photo with them to commemorate the occasion.
“A big THANK YOU to @officialbeckyhammon for swinging by The Convo!” read the caption by the Roadrunners’ official Instagram account.
The Roadrunners are currently undefeated in the American Athletic Conference (AAC) with standout performances from Jordyn Jenkins and Idara Udo in their latest game.
Hammon had a successful college career herself, setting records and earning accolades during her time with the Colorado State Rams. She was inducted into the Colorado State Athletics Hall of Fame in 2004.
