LAS VEGAS (KSNV) — The Las Vegas Aces are showing their support for reproductive health care in Nevada by partnering with Reproductive Freedom for All Nevada.
U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services Xavier Becerra met with the team on Wednesday to discuss what he described as the concerning lack of women’s reproductive rights.
“My three daughters today have fewer rights than my wife did. I believe they deserve better,” said Becerra.
Following the overturning of Roe v. Wade in 2022, Becerra emphasized his goal to reinstate women’s health rights through legislation.
“Our aim is to enhance healthcare access for all individuals in America who lack necessary services, ensuring that no one is left without,” he stated.

The Las Vegas Aces have made a commitment by contributing $9,000 to Reproductive Freedom for All, the chosen organization for this year’s WNBA Commissioner’s Cup support.
“As a Black woman, I am aware of the high mortality rates and inadequate healthcare access in communities of color in this country. These issues impact me, my family, friends, and colleagues in the league,” mentioned Alysha Clark, a forward for the Aces.
Caroline Mello Robinson, who serves as the director of campaigns for Reproductive Freedom for All Nevada, shared that the donation will be utilized to encourage voters in November to secure abortion rights permanently in the state’s constitution.
“Our efforts involve engaging in conversations with individuals to convey the importance of these enduring protections and the steps to achieve them. This is a grassroots initiative and requires collective action,” added Caroline Mello Robinson.
Experts warn that reproductive methods such as in vitro fertilization (IVF) that assist women in conceiving are also facing challenges.
