Formula 1’s Las Vegas Grand Prix to return in 2026 (Las Vegas Review-Journal)
‘With that agreement expiring after this year’s Las Vegas Grand Prix, scheduled for Nov. 20 to 22, the two sides have been working on an extension. Initially aimed at being longer than the initial three-year term, plans have changed to inking a new two-year agreement, according to Steve Hill, LVCVA president and CEO.’
Die Technik-Geheimnisse des MCL39 (Auto Motor und Sport – German)
‘It also remains a mystery why McLaren always run at full throttle in the largely meaningless third practice session, shocking their rivals with incredible times. Or why the mechanics stand in a row as a visual barrier in front of the car when working on the brake ducts. Or why their cars are the only ones on the grid with the rear wheels left off until the very last moment. The competition still has several riddles to solve.’
Il Cortocircuito Sviluppatori Edition: Kunos, Caracal Games, Storm in a teacup e One o One (Multiplayer – Italian)
Kunos Simulazioni co-founder Marco Massarutto: ‘We had a concrete opportunity in 2019, when Electronic Arts had the exclusive rights (to the official F1 game). Codemasters had been, let’s say, under discussion and scrutiny regarding Formula 1, and we had the chance to create the official simulation version of the Formula 1 game. So Stefano Casillo (fellow co-founder) and I put ourselves forward for it because it was a project with a commendable aim.’
Stroll on returning to the cockpit for his home grand prix (Aston Martin)
‘I started to feel some pain in my wrist and hand a couple of months ago, but I wanted to keep racing. However, the discomfort just became too much, and we made the decision to have medical intervention.’
WEC: Cadillac leads Le Mans qualifying, Porsche disqualified (FIA)
‘The biggest twist came after the session ended: the #6 Porsche Penske 963, originally fourth fastest in qualifying, was disqualified after failing post-session scrutineering for being under the minimum weight. The car, driven by Kevin Estre, will now start from the back of the Hypercar grid.’
Le Mans 24 Hypercar Hyperpole highlights (WEC)
One of the most incredible days of my career. Today, I had the opportunity to drive Nigel Mansell’s championship-winning car, the FW14B, ahead of our trip to Goodwood.
You dream of days like this, and that opportunity of a lifetime came today, just over 30 years since I watched… pic.twitter.com/lKLCOI0SvV
