Lawson on F1 revival: ‘I was naive at Red Bull – but my goal is still the same’ (The Independent)
‘I was naive when I went into the team. I thought I’d be given time. So going into Australia and China (the first two races), with hindsight, there’s things I’d do differently. But they were two tracks I’d never raced at before, and one was a sprint weekend.’
Practice Recap (Haas)
‘It’s been a very solid day, I’m very happy with it, it’s probably been the best Friday of the year for us. We need to wait and see, we need to keep chasing, as you know with balance and the good grip we had today, normally there are a lot of things that change overnight.’
Stunted day of practice running in Singapore (Williams)
‘In FP2 we went with a different car setup and I struggled a bit more compared to FP1, losing a bit of confidence, so we’ll look into reverting back to the original configuration. We’ve got some homework to do tonight, as again we seem to struggle on the softs.’
Chaotic ffirst day of running in Singapore (Mercedes)
‘I’ve felt good in the car today. We’ve still got things we can improve but obviously, with it being my first time racing here, there is a lot of room for improvement with my driving too. If we can take a step forward with both the car and my driving, then I think we can be in with a chance of fighting for a good grid position tomorrow.’
A busy evening (Ferrari)
‘I’m feeling positive with how the car is behaving and responding on this track so far. We spent the sessions getting properly acclimatised and I feel we made good progress heading into FP2.’
Hauger hustles in ‘pretty cool’ first fun in Coyne car (IndyCar)
”Downforce and how much speed you can carry into the corner,’ Hauger said of the differences. ‘How much I can push with the downforce changes. More power is always fun with the hybrid system, and there are a few other things you have to look out for in the car. Overall, it’s pretty nice.”
