LeBron and Savannah James have discussed their son’s cardiac arrest that occurred in July of last year.
Bronny experienced cardiac arrest while practicing at USC.
The James family have not talked much about the incident and Bronny’s progress since then, but a scene from Netflix’s Starting 5 captures their conversation.
“It was just about us supporting each other and just being super grateful for the outcome,” Savannah said in the clip shared on social media.
LeBron, her husband, expressed gratitude to the USC staff and God for their help in Bronny’s recovery.
“Shoutout to the man above,” James mentioned in the docuseries. “To the whole coaching staff, training staff, members of that program.”
The footage then shows LeBron introducing Erin, a medical professional, to his mother, Gloria James.
Erin was the one who administered CPR to Bronny during his cardiac arrest at USC.
“They are the reason Bronny is alive now and smiling and thriving and doing what any 19-year old should be doing and that’s living out their dream,” LeBron praised the training staff.
“It’s crazy with kids, like when they love something and want something that’s all that matters to them,” he continued. “As a parent, you’re like, you know, ‘You had a cardiac arrest.’ And like in his mind he’s like ‘Can I or can I not play ball again? And if the answer is yes, ‘When can I play ball again?’ I love that.”
Since then, Bronny has been selected as the 55th overall pick by the Lakers and made his debut alongside his father in a pre-season game – marking a historic moment for LA and the James family.
