Eddie Jordan, the legendary F1 team boss, believes Lewis Hamilton has regained his form and is “right back in the game.”
Hamilton, one of the most in-form drivers in F1, has secured two victories in the last three races.
In the past eight rounds, only Max Verstappen and Oscar Piastri have accumulated more points than the seven-time world champion.
Mercedes’ performance improved with an upgrade in Monaco, which allowed George Russell to claim the team’s first podium in the following race.
Russell went on to win in Austria, while Hamilton triumphed at Silverstone and Spa.
Earlier this year, Jordan questioned Hamilton’s motivation after rumors of his potential move to Ferrari in 2025 surfaced.
However, with Mercedes’ recent improvements, Jordan now believes Hamilton is back to his best.
During the Formula for Success podcast, Jordan expressed his thoughts, stating, “Lewis, at the beginning of the year, seemed focused on joining Ferrari and ensuring he had the right team in place, including Fred Vasseur.”
“Ferrari will undoubtedly be a strong team next year and they will be delighted to see Lewis perform well, given their fierce competition with Mercedes.”
“I believe Lewis is back at the top of his game and is now eyeing a championship challenge next year. And who’s to say he’s not capable of achieving it.”
Hamilton aims to end Ferrari’s drought for an F1 title in 2025, as the team last won the drivers’ championship in 2007 and currently face difficulties with Leclerc and Sainz.
While Ferrari started the year as the second-fastest team, they have been surpassed by McLaren and Mercedes.
Ferrari’s upgrades at the Spanish Grand Prix failed to yield results, leading to handling issues in high-speed corners.
