Lexie Hull and the rest of the Indiana Fever have practically become babysitters for Katie Lou Samuelson’s daughter, Aliyah. The babysitting crew now seems to have added a new member — Kate Martin.
Hull shared a photo on Instagram of a beach day featuring Samuelson playing with Aliyah while Martin blew bubbles in the background. Hull captioned the post:
“(Aliya’s) giggles >>>”
Samuelson and her daughter Aliyah have captured the hearts of many, whether they’re Fever fans or not. During last season’s media day, the Fever forward even posed for photos with her daughter.
Samuelson took a year off from the WNBA after giving birth to Aliyah in August 2023, missing the entire 2023 season, which ended up being her last with her hometown team, the LA Sparks.
In her 2024 comeback season with the Fever, she averaged 4.3 points, 2.3 rebounds and 1.4 assists in 18.2 minutes per game across 37 appearances, including 15 starts. Samuelson served as a key role player alongside Hull, who contributed 5.5 ppg, 2.5 rpg and 1.1 apg as a backup to Caitlin Clark.

Martin, a teammate of Clark’s in Iowa, is set to join a new team, the Golden State Valkyries, for the 2025 season. She spent her rookie year with the Las Vegas Aces.
Lexie Hull celebrates boyfriend’s birthday
Lexie Hull recently celebrated her boyfriend’s birthday, taking to Instagram on Thursday to share her love.
In her birthday tribute, Hull posted several photos of herself and her boyfriend, Will Matthiessen, from the past year. She captioned the post:
“happy birthday to my best friend 💗.”
Hull and Matthiessen’s relationship dates back to their time at Stanford, where Hull was a standout basketball player and Matthiessen played baseball before joining the Pittsburgh Pirates organization in MLB.

Hull is making the most of her offseason, preparing to suit up for Rose BC. She’ll join a star-studded roster that includes Kahleah Copper, Chelsea Gray, Brittney Sykes, Angel Reese, and Azura Stevens.
Meanwhile, Martin will play for Laces Basketball Club in the same league, alongside teammates like Kayla McBride, Alyssa Thomas, Courtney Williams, and Stefanie Dolson.
