Caitlin Clark’s sophomore WNBA season was cut short after she suffered a season-ending groin injury just 13 games into the year with the Indiana Fever.
Over the past week, however, fans finally got a glimpse of what’s to come, as Clark returned to the court representing USA Basketball alongside several other WNBA stars in the women’s FIBA World Cup Qualifying Tournament in Puerto Rico.
Clark and Team USA went a perfect 5-0, winning every game by double digits. She was named tournament MVP after averaging 11.6 points and 6.4 assists in staggered minutes across the five games, just like every other player on the roster.

Reacting to Clark’s achievement was her Fever teammate Lexie Hull, as the two have formed one of the stronger backcourts in the WNBA.
Hull shared the news on her Instagram story with the caption, “she’s baaaaaaaack.”
This marks Clark’s second MVP honor in FIBA competition, as she previously won in 2021 with the U19 team during her collegiate career with the Iowa Hawkeyes.
She went on to become the NCAA Division I all-time leading scorer during her four seasons there before being selected No. 1 overall by the Fever in 2024 — two years after the team drafted Hull with the No. 6 overall pick.
