LFA- Legacy Fighting Alliance has long been a platform where rising contenders and seasoned veterans showcase their skills. At LFA 217, Brazilian flyweight Pedro “The Rock” Nobre (22-9-2, 1 NC) stepped in against Mitchell McKee in a bout that had the crowd on edge from the opening bell.

For two rounds, the arena filled with the sound of sharp exchanges — Nobre pressing forward behind his hands, McKee snapping back with counters. The pace was frantic, neither man willing to back away from the center. Just past the three-minute mark of the second round, McKee connected with a pair of hooks that brought the fight to a sudden close.

The finish didn’t erase what came before LFA 217: Nobre’s willingness to meet fire with fire, his stubborn refusal to take a backward step, and the kind of grit that has defined his career across UFC, PFL, and now LFA. The fans got what they paid for — a clash that was short, furious, and impossible to ignore.

In the days that followed, Nobre had time to catch his breath and reflect. Speaking with MMA Sucka, he shared thoughts on his nickname, his evolution in the sport, and what the future may hold after LFA 217.

Reporting note: Responses were provided via written Q&A with Pedro Nobre in September 2025.

1. LFA 217: Nobre on Being Well-Rounded

Q: You’ve earned wins by knockout, submission, and decision. Do you see yourself as a well-rounded fighter, or is there one area where you feel most at home?Pedro Nobre: “Yes, I like striking and I’m a black belt in jiu-jitsu, I’m comfortable in both situations, what I don’t like is using force to take the fight down.”

Nobre’s résumé reflects that balance — he’s dangerous with his hands, comfortable on the mat, and unafraid to let the fight play out wherever it goes.

2. LFA 217: The Meaning Behind “The Rock”

Q: What does the nickname “The Rock” mean to you personally? Does it reflect your style, your mentality, or something else?Pedro Nobre: “Yes, when I was younger I was very tough, I was a real rock, I sparred with all the weights and didn’t back down, so they said I was very tough and I ended up becoming The Rock when I had my first professional fight.”

It’s a name that stuck — and one that still mirrors the resilience fans saw at LFA 217, when Nobre refused to retreat even as the younger fighter pushed forward.

3. LFA 217: Brazilian MMA’s Evolution

Q: You’ve been part of Brazilian MMA since the early days. How have you seen the sport evolve in Brazil, and what excites you most about the next generation coming up?Pedro Nobre: “Yes, it used to be much more difficult, nowadays there are plenty of events to fight in, if the young person focuses he can perform very well in the fight. What excites me is that jiu-jitsu is growing more and more, maybe MMA will become a style for people to do after their career in jiu-jitsu, just to test themselves and not because they need to eat like it was in the past.”

4. LFA 217: What Fans Can Expect From Nobre

Q: When fans watch a Pedro Nobre fight, what do you want them to see and remember?Pedro Nobre: “I want them to see an exciting fight, to say that it was worth paying for the ticket, the pay-per-view, I try to give the public what they want to see, which is an exciting fight to watch.”

At LFA 217, he delivered just that. Win or lose, Nobre’s forward march kept the energy alive, and the crowd responded with the kind of buzz only a true veteran can inspire.

5. LFA 217: What’s Next for Pedro Nobre

Q: Finally, what’s next for you? Do you have a timeline or a vision for the kinds of fights and opportunities you want in the near future?Pedro Nobre: “I had an exciting conversation with Ed Soares after the fight, there was a fight of the night bonus, he really liked what I delivered in such a short time and promised me other fights, now it’s time to wait for the contract.”

Focus on the Moment at LFA 217

From his black belt in jiu-jitsu to his toughness that earned the nickname “The Rock,” Pedro Nobre has built a career defined by resilience and entertainment. At LFA 217, he showed once again that fans can count on him to bring action, no matter the opponent or the outcome. With LFA CEO Ed Soares signaling more opportunities ahead, Nobre’s story in the cage isn’t finished yet.
