Liberty guard Sabrina Ionescu is on the mend after she had a procedure last week.
Ionescu underwent a procedure Friday to stabilize the ulnar collateral ligament in her right thumb, team sources confirmed to The Post.
Ionescu’s operation, first reported by ESPN, was performed by surgeon Dr. Steven S. Shin in Los Angeles and considered a success.
Ionescu has already started the rehabilitation process and is expected to return to on-court activities in approximately four weeks, team sources said.
ESPN first reported back in September that Ionescu suffered the UCL tear in her shooting hand during Game 4 of the WNBA Finals.
Ionescu, who turned 27 on Friday, took to Instagram on Sunday to reflect on the year since her last birthday.
One of several photos shared showed a smiling Ionescu laying in a hospital bed with a cast on her right arm.
“Ps: getting my thumb fixed was quite the bday present,” Ionescu wrote in the caption.
Last season, Ionescu averaged 18.2 points, 6.2 assists and 4.4 rebounds in her fifth WNBA season. She played an integral part in helping the Liberty capture the franchise’s first WNBA title in October.
Ionescu secured New York the Game 3 Finals win against the Minnesota Lynx with a deep, go-ahead 3-pointer.
Ionescu, a three-time All-Star, had quite the productive year. Not only did she become a WNBA champion, but she also got married and won a gold medal with Team USA at the Paris Games this past summer.
