Speer and Dalzell open the show by discussing the atmosphere of basketball fandom in Boston. “The Celtics obviously won the championship,” Dalzell begins. ” … It’s probably similar to what you feel with the Liberty fan base, where it just kind of seems like there’s always the next thing. The championship parade, banner night … but there’s a lot of buzz and excitement about basketball right now.”

When Speer asks Dalzell if she thinks Tatum might follow through on something like this, she says yes. “He has a great team around him,” Dalzell says. “I’m not surprised that he looked at the growth of women’s basketball… and thought to himself, maybe I want to get in on this.”
