Los Angeles Sparks Mascot Gets Knocked Out During WNBA Halftime Show originally appeared on The Spun.
On this week’s episode of crazy things that happen in the WNBA, we have a team mascot getting knocked the heck out during the halftime show.

The incident occurred in the middle of yesterday’s game between the Las Vegas Aces and the home team Los Angeles Sparks. The Sparks mascot, Sparky, was on the court for a halftime performance along with some acrobats.
Unfortunately, Sparky either missed some stage directions or didn’t have any. As an acrobat was doing an incredible series of backflips, he crashed into Sparky, knocking the poor mascot flat on his back.
The clip below ends before we can see Sparky get up, but the acrobat clearly went over to him to make sure he was okay.

Naturally, sports fans took to X and quickly roasted just about everyone for that absurd occurrence:
“WNBA is a bonafide charity,” one user remarked.
“Nerve damage through a mascot suit is crazy,” wrote another.
“I’m seen more tomfoolery than actual gameplay from the WNBA today,” a third wrote.
“The W was causing havoc today.”
“This got an absurdly loud laugh out of me.”
“Might be the most insane sports night in general.”

It’s probably a good thing the mascot’s real identity is a secret, otherwise the fans that have been commenting about the bizarre scene all night would be going after him personally.
The Sparks went on to lose their home game to the Aces, falling 89-74. Cameron Brink had five points off the bench in her first game in over a year.
