LPGA to offer stars record prize money for 2025 – Golf Australia Magazine – The Women’s Game

The total prize fund for next year’s season represents an increase of $US13 million dollars ($20A million) from 2024.

The combined purse total for the five majors will top $US 47 million ($A72 million, the highest in the LPGA Tour’s history, tour officials announced on Wednesday.

“The 2024 season was another year of historic growth for the LPGA Tour, and with this 2025 schedule we will continue to improve on that growth,” LPGA Commissioner Mollie Marcoux Samaan said in a statement.

“This schedule is highlighted by two exciting new events, a new multi-year title for the longest-running non-major tournament on the LPGA Tour, even higher purse sizes, increased benefits that will enhance the athlete experience, improved geographical flow and a longer offseason that will give our athletes a well-deserved rest after their tremendous work in 2024.”

The LPGA – the longest-running women’s professional sports organisation – has a schedule that includes events in 14 states in the US and 11 other countries.

One new stop on the tour in 2025 will be the previously announced Black Desert Championship in Ivins, Utah. The tour also returns to Mexico for the Riviera Maya Open in Cancun. Both events take place in May.

Meanwhile, Australians Hannah Green, Minjee Lee, Grace Kim and Gabriela Ruffels are among 60 players chasing a $A6.13 million pot, the biggest cheque in women’s golf history, at the LPGA’s 2014 season-ending Tour Championship in Florida this weekend

The champion’s cheque, double that of last year, is part of a record $US11 million ($A16.85 million) purse on offer at the Tiburen Golf Club in Naples.
