Representing Munster Technological University (MTU), Lucy Holmes from Dungarvan and West Waterford AC has been chosen to compete for Ireland at the U23 European Cross Country Championships (ECCC) taking place on December 8th in Antalya, Turkey.
In the past two years, Lucy narrowly missed out on selection but secured her spot this year after finishing 4th in the National U23 Cross Country Championships in Fermanagh.
Craig Harrington, MTU Athletics Development Officer, praised Lucy’s dedication and hard work, stating: “Lucy has been a consistent and dedicated athlete for MTU for the past 5 years. Her commitment to training and competition shows her dedication to the university. She truly deserves this opportunity.”
