The residence of Luka Doncic was broken into on Friday night, marking the most recent incident in a string of burglaries targeting high-profile athletes.
“Fortunately, no one was present during the break-in, and Luka and his loved ones are safe,” stated Lara Beth Seager, his business manager. “Luka has contacted law enforcement and an investigation is underway.”
Currently sidelined with a strained left calf, Doncic is expected to be out of action for at least a month.
The NBA disclosed that the FBI has linked some of these burglaries to “transnational South American Theft Groups,” described as highly organized, sophisticated criminal networks utilizing advanced tactics and technologies such as pre-surveillance, drones, and signal jamming devices.
