Launching later this month, a new World Rally Championship docuseries will provide fans with a unique look behind the scenes of M-Sport Ford’s 2024 campaign.
Named ‘More than Machine’, the series is a six-part documentary filmed in collaboration with team sponsor SafetyCulture by Superlative Films. It chronicles the daily routines of M-Sport’s drivers Adrien Fourmaux and Gregoire Munster, as well as the engineers, technicians, and other team members throughout the 13-round WRC season.
Today, the trailer for the series has been released, set to be showcased on the WRC’s YouTube channel. The first episode, focusing on the team’s journey through Safari Rally Kenya, will premiere on August 22.
In recent times, behind-the-scenes sporting documentaries have gained popularity, with Formula 1’s Netflix series ‘Drive to Survive’ being a major influence. This marks the WRC’s venture into the genre with a significant production by an independent filmmaker.
M-Sport aims to bring untold stories to the forefront through the docuseries, shedding light on the lives of various team members, including co-drivers, mechanics, and physiotherapists, alongside the drivers.
Richard Millener, the team principal, expressed gratitude for the opportunity to share the team’s remarkable stories with fans, highlighting the unseen aspects of rallying and the impact of the series on bringing viewers closer to the sport.
Malcolm Wilson, the M-Sport founder, emphasized the importance of showcasing the stories behind the people who make the operation successful, hoping for a positive reception from a global audience.
