The grid for the FIA GT World Cup will be powered by 100% sustainable fuel for the first time in November. This prestigious sprint race for GT3 machinery will co-headline the Macau Grand Prix along with the new FIA Formula Regional World Cup.
In line with the FIA GT Commission-developed fuel roadmap and through partnerships with ETS Racing Fuels, the FIA GT World Cup competitors used 50% sustainable fuel in the 2023 event. This marked the return of FIA racing to Macau for the first time since 2019.
The transition towards sustainable power sources began last year with the use of a 50% sustainable drop-in solution. This allowed for seamless fuel implementation among competitors in a short timeframe.
This year, the FIA GT World Cup has reached another milestone by powering all 23 cars from six different manufacturers with 100% sustainable fuel from the Renewablaze line by ETS Racing Fuels.
The fuel, made from second-generation bio-components sourced from bio-waste, only requires minor engine mapping adjustments. GT3 manufacturers have extensively tested it in preparation for the event.
ETS Racing Fuels received the FIA Three-Star Environmental Accreditation earlier this year, the highest environmental sustainability recognition from the governing body of world motorsport.
The 2024 FIA GT World Cup and Macau GP, co-headlining with the FIA FR World Cup, will be extensively live streamed on the FIA’s official YouTube channel.
