GENESEO, N.Y. – Carly Martin recently earned the Chuck Resler Tournament Most Valuable Player award and was also recognized as the Northwest Conference Women’s Basketball Student-Athlete of the Week. In a recent game, she matched her career high of 24 points to lead the Whitman College women’s basketball team to a 75-51 victory over SUNY Geneseo.
Martin’s exceptional performance included 10-14 shooting from the floor and 4-7 from three-point range. Lindsey Drango contributed with 14 points, seven rebounds, and five assists, while Holly Morgan added 11 points and seven rebounds off the bench for Whitman (3-0).
Audrey Hintz led SUNY Geneseo (0-1) with 11 points, and Kristin Suydam scored 10 points along with five rebounds.
Whitman dominated early, building a 15-point lead after the first quarter. The team maintained control throughout the game, showcasing a strong performance on both offense and defense.
The victory marked another success for the Blues, who will continue their season in Walla Walla at the upcoming Kim Evanger Raney Memorial Classic. #GoWhitman
