Based on the theme for the design of the skin, a particular rarity is given to the costume. The prices of these skins are based on the rarity of the skin. The upcoming skin for the newly announced hero, Ultron, is known as X-Tron. At the same time, the new Groot is named Yggroot. The new skins will be available in-game during Season 2.5 to celebrate the launch of Ultron.
Ultron and Groot are two characters that are popular within the Marvel Fanbase. A significant reason for this is their appearances in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Ultron was first shown during the second Marvel Avengers movie, Age of Ultron. The announcement of Ultron has received quite a fanfare. The reason is primarily that the new hero is a strategist who focuses on supporting his teammates.
Groot is part of the Guardians of the Galaxy. He was first shown in his older form during the first movie. Following his sacrifice, a younger version of him was born through a twig. In the MCU, we see this young Groot grow older. His last appearance was during Guardians of the Galaxy 3. With the launch of Season 2.5 soon, it does feel like these two heroes will play a vital role in the meta.
Lore Behind The Skins
The new Yggroot Groot skin is actually a reference to Norse mythology. In Norse mythology, there is a tree known as Yggdrasil, also known as the world tree or the tree of life. The tree is said to connect all nine realms. In the skin, one can see unique orbs around Groot. These orbs symbolize realms like Muspelheim, Svartalfheim, and Hel.
This is quite a unique take on the hero. One could assume that in the future, we will get to see a Groot skin based on other historical mythologies. Currently, Marvel Rivals has three heroes from Norse mythology: Thor, Loki, and Hela.

The X-Tron Ultron skin was actually first shown in the game through a unique cut scene. We see Iron Man helping Ultron come back to life. Following this, Ultron takes over Cerebro and becomes one of the strongest variants of himself. The Ultron X-Tron skin was first revealed in the Marvel Rivals Infinity Comic Issue #12.
The Groot skin bundle is expected to cost around 1,600 units. The hero isn’t used as much in the ranked ladder compared to Iron Man and Captain America. The Yggroot skin bundle will include the following:
