The University of Maryland has announced the induction of eight members into the school’s Hall of Fame for the class of 2024. Among the inductees is four-time WNBA All-Star and current Olympian Alyssa Thomas.
Thomas, a 6’2 forward, is currently representing Team USA in Paris as they compete for a gold medal. Her exceptional college and professional career accomplishments have earned her this prestigious recognition.
During her time at Maryland, Thomas was a three-time All-American, leading the Terps to a Final Four appearance in 2014 and winning ACC Player of the Year three times. She holds the all-time records for points, rebounds, starts, and scoring average at Maryland.
“Congratulations to our exceptional Hall of Fame Class of 2024,” said Damon Evans, the Barry P. Gossett Director of Athletics. “This class includes individuals who were National Players of the Year in their sports, as well as trailblazers who achieved notable milestones. Each of these honorees has left a lasting impact on Maryland Athletics, both on and off the field. We look forward to celebrating their academic and athletic achievements.”
Thomas was drafted fourth overall in the 2014 WNBA draft and has played her entire professional career with the Connecticut Sun.
