The Dallas Mavericks have officially announced a new multiyear broadcast deal with TEGNA on Friday that will allow games to be televised over the air for free.
With this new agreement, 10 million people will now have access to Mavs games, a significant increase from the 3.1 million viewers last year.
This deal will take effect starting this season.
Earlier this summer, the team mutually decided to terminate its contract with Diamond Sports Group.
Patrick Dumont, the new governor of the Mavs, expressed, “Our new agreement with TEGNA helps meaningfully deliver on that goal by broadcasting more games to more local homes than in any period in franchise history.”
