Butler guard Kilyn McGuff was selected to the 2024-25 All-BIG EAST Second Team on Thursday after a vote from the conference head coaches. McGuff averaged 12.7 points, 8.0 rebounds, 1.5 assists and 1.5 steals per game during her senior season.

McGuff was the only Bulldog to start in all 31 games for Butler this year during the regular season. She shot 44.3 percent from the field and 38.8 percent from behind the arc. Her 57 made 3-pointers led the team and has her ranked fourth in the conference.

McGuff led the BIG EAST in double-doubles (10), ranked fourth in rebounds per game (8.0), sixth in minutes per game (33.5) and 10th in free throw percentage (76.5). She led Butler in scoring 12 times and in rebounding 22 times!

McGuff scored in double figures 22 times this year and came up with a season-high 22 points in a BU win over Boise State. She topped 20 points two other times with a 21-point performance in the win over Marquette, followed by 21 more points in the regular season finale at Villanova.

Five of McGuff’s 10 double-doubles came against conference opponents. She had 15 points and 10 rebounds at Creighton before posting 18 points and a career-high 17 rebounds at Marquette. McGuff played well in the rematch vs. Creighton with 15 points and 13 rebounds. She had 19 points and 10 boards in a home game vs. DePaul and played great vs. Villanova with 19 points and 15 rebounds.

McGuff joins Caroline Strande (2024), Tori Schickel (2017, 2019), and Daress McClung (2013, 2014) as the only Second Team All-BIG EAST selections in program history.

Ijeoma Uchendu (2015), Tori Schickel (2018), and Kristen Spolyar (2020) are the only Bulldogs to earn First Team honors since Butler joined the league in 2012-13.

The Bulldogs will play St. John’s in the first game of the 2025 BIG EAST Championship Tournament on Friday. The 11 a.m. tip against the Red Storm will take place at Mohegan Sun Arena. The winner of the 8/9 matchup will face UConn the next day at noon.
