Butler guard Kilyn McGuff earned Academic All-District honors on Thursday after an announcement by College Sports Communicators.
Â
All-District accolades recognize the nation’s top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America program separately recognizes women’s basketball honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
Â
McGuff was a Second Team All-BIG EAST selection this year after averaging a team-best 12.4 points and 7.9 rebounds. She ranked fifth in the BIG EAST in rebounds per game, sixth in minutes played (33.6) and 10th in free throw percentage (77.0).
Â
The transfer from Belmont recorded 10 double-doubles in her lone season with the Bulldogs. She had a season-high 22 points and 10 rebounds in a win over Boise State and posted a career-high 17 rebounds to go along with 18 points against Marquette.
Â
McGuff and the Bulldogs will be back in action tomorrow with a WNIT Super 16 game at Purdue Fort Wayne. Tip at the Gates Sports Center is set for 7 p.m.
