In 2019, Megan Simmons made a pivotal decision that would shape the future of her golfing career. Initially signing a full scholarship with the University of Oklahoma, she chose to forgo the opportunity in favor of pursuing the PGA route. Reflecting on the choice, Megan shared, “It was the best decision I have ever made, and I have never looked back.”
Megan’s journey began as an assistant golf professional at Purley Downs Golf Club in Surrey, where she honed her skills while completing her PGA certification. By the age of 23, she had not only passed her PGA but also secured an incredible opportunity to work in Dubai at The Track Meydan. Her talent and dedication soon caught the attention of industry leaders, leading to her being headhunted by the prestigious Montgomerie Golf Club in Dubai.
REPRESENTING ENGLAND
Throughout her career, Megan has consistently demonstrated exceptional passion, adaptability, and resilience, whether on the course or in her coaching roles. She has represented England in competitions worldwide and competed at the county level, gaining extensive experience teaching players of all ages and abilities. Megan is particularly dedicated to introducing more women and juniors to golf, creating a welcoming environment for them to thrive.
At the Montgomerie Golf Club, Megan launched a Ladies Par 3 event, designed to bridge the gap between introductory golf lessons and competitive club play for women in the region. Her innovative approach has been instrumental in making golf more accessible and enjoyable for women.
