The rivalry between Caitlin Clark and three-time WNBA champion Diana Taurasi seems to only be getting stronger.
Over the weekend, the Phoenix Mercury’s social media team got involved by posting a video on their verified TikTok account that seemed to poke fun at Clark.
“I miss the WNBA. Caitlin, where are you?” a fan on a couch says at the start of the video.
“Who’s Caitlin? I’m here for Taurasi,” a young fan in Mercury gear with a sign reading, “Who is Caitlin? I’m here for Taurasi,” responds.

The video emerged right before the WNBA’s highly anticipated restart following a break for the Paris Olympics where Team USA, with Clark and Taurasi, won gold.

The video then transitioned to a highlight reel of Taurasi, a WNBA legend, contrasting her career with Clark’s rising star in women’s basketball.
During their first matchup in late June, Clark commended Taurasi and expressed her admiration for playing against her idol.
Taurasi, on the other hand, kept it simple when asked about facing Clark, saying, “Yeah, it’ll be fun.”
The rivalry sparked in April when Taurasi hinted at a “rude awakening” for incoming WNBA rookies, potentially aimed at Clark’s dominating college career.
However, despite the rivalry, Taurasi and Clark share similarities in their scoring abilities and 3-point shooting.
The next game between the Mercury and the Fever is anticipated on Aug. 16, continuing the clash between Taurasi and Clark.
