Charles Leclerc, achieved a podium finish despite facing a challenging race. He had to manage temperatures at the start and also had a close moment with Norris. How was the race for him and how difficult was it?Charles Leclerc: It was a tough race. Managing temperatures in the first stint was quite challenging. Overall, we did our best today. I’ve been struggling a bit this weekend, so third place is a good result for me. Carlos had an amazing race today, and it’s a positive weekend for the team.

What has contributed to this improvement in performance recently?CL: The team has been working well together. We have been gradually returning to the level we should be at. It’s great to see our progress. The Constructors’ Championship is our goal, and performances like today bring us closer to it. We hope to continue in this direction and secure the title.

Thank you and best of luck for the podium. Lando, you had an eventful race with battles against Max and Charles. How satisfied are you with your second-place finish?Lando Norris: It was a tough race, especially in the early laps. I tried my best, but Carlos and Ferrari were very strong today. I had to focus on avoiding any incidents and staying in the race. The fans here made it enjoyable, and I’m grateful for their support.

Tell us about the overtaking move on Max. It was a contentious moment with penalties involved. How did you prepare for that overtaking maneuver?LN: I anticipated a tough battle with Max. I respect him as a driver, but I was ready for any challenges. It was a challenging but clean race overall.

With the championship battle heating up, how do you see your chances in the upcoming races?LN: I’m focused on doing my best and working together as a team. We showed good pace today, and I believe we can continue to compete at a high level in the remaining races.

I felt their energy throughout the weekend, and it motivated me to perform well. Winning here was a special moment for me, and I hope to savor it as we head into the final races of the season.

Tell us about your decisive overtaking move on Max. How confident were you in making that pass?CS: I was determined to make up for lost ground after the start. I took a chance and it paid off. It was a strategic move, and I had the confidence to execute it successfully.

How have Ferrari managed to improve their performance this season, especially with the strong support from fans in Mexico?CS: I had a feeling that this could be my weekend. The support from my family and fans fueled my determination. Winning in front of such a passionate crowd was a memorable experience.

Press Conference

Congratulations Carlos on your victory. How significant is this win for you, especially considering your time with Ferrari?CS: This win is very special to me. I had a strong feeling coming into this weekend, and the support from my loved ones added to the motivation. It’s a moment I will always cherish.

How emotional was it for you to stand on the podium with your team and celebrate this victory?CS: It was an emotional moment for me. Winning in front of my family was something I had dreamed of. The entire weekend played out perfectly, and I am incredibly proud of what we achieved.

Looking back at the start of the race, can you walk us through the initial challenges you faced?CS: The start was tricky, but I remained focused on regaining the lead. I had to be decisive in my moves, especially against a strong competitor like Max. It was a tense but rewarding battle.

After taking the lead, were there any moments of concern during the race, such as the reported misfire?CS: There was a minor misfire at one point, but it didn’t affect the overall performance. I trusted in my pace and strategy to maintain the lead. McLaren showed resilience, but we were able to secure valuable points.

You and Charles set a fast pace early in the race. Were there any concerns about pushing too hard?CS: There was a moment where we were pushing hard, but I provided feedback to ensure we remained within target. Racing situations can get intense, but it’s all part of the competition.

You predicted a strong performance in Mexico. What are your thoughts heading into the next race in Brazil?CS: I want to enjoy this victory before focusing on the next race. We have a lot to celebrate, and I am grateful for the team’s hard work. Brazil will be another challenge, but for now, I want to savor this moment.

Well done, Carlos. Thank you for sharing your insights. Lando, congratulations on your second-place finish. How do you reflect on today’s race and your performance?LN: I’m pleased with the result, considering the challenges early in the race. The competition was tough, but I was able to maintain a strong pace and secure a podium finish. It was a rewarding race for me.
