The Miami Dolphins are at a crossroads. The 2024 season is on life support, and they have a bunch of tradable veterans on the roster. Should they have a fire sale, rack up draft picks, and clear out cap space for the 2025 season, or should they stay the course and play out the rest of the season and see what happens?
According to ESPN’s NFL Playoff projections, the Dolphins hold onto a 7% chance of making the playoffs. Translation: little to no shot.
The truth is the Dolphins are at a huge disadvantage with their record and schedule of making the playoffs. If they want to change that, the team has to get hot on both sides of the ball yesterday.
No more one-sided football from them. It needs to be complimentary, or they can kiss this season goodbye and tank the rest of it because there aren’t any gimme games left on their schedule. It’s predominantly quality teams starting on Sunday when the Dolphins travel north to face big brother, the Buffalo Bills.
A win against the Bills could ignite a run in the Dolphins, but as recent memory shows, the Dolphins can’t get over the hump of beating the Bills, and the media’s predictions support that.

The media has spoken and they’ve proclaimed that you should bet your house, your car, or your savings on the Bills.
Most of the media at least gave the Dolphins offense some love, but with the defense most likely missing key starters Jevon Holland and Zach Sieler, they won’t nearly have the horses to stop a Josh Allen-led offense.
The Bills could be due for a stinker, which they usually have a few times a year, but not against the Dolphins. They’re always pumped for that matchup, so I doubt that, but you never know.
The Dolphins may need Tua Tagovailoa and their high-priced weapons on the outside to carry the load and turn this bad boy into a good old-fashioned shoot-out.
If the Dolphins fall to the Bills, they’re 2-6 and on the road again against another tough opponent, the Los Angeles Rams. That could end up a going-out-of-business sale of the Dolphins 2024 season.
