There seems to be a potential clash between UFC stars Michael Chandler and Jorge Masvidal on the horizon.
‘Iron’ Michael Chandler recently returned to the octagon in the co-main event of UFC 309 after a two-year hiatus. He faced former lightweight champion Charles Oliveira, who had previously defeated him in 2022 for the vacant UFC gold.
Despite a valiant effort, Chandler was once again bested by Oliveira, who secured a unanimous decision victory. Following the loss, Chandler expressed interest in a fight with Conor McGregor, but due to McGregor’s legal issues, that matchup seems unlikely.
It now appears that Chandler could potentially face Jorge Masvidal instead. Masvidal has been absent from the octagon since his defeat to Gilbert Burns in April 2022, followed by a loss to Nate Diaz in the boxing ring earlier this year.
In a series of tweets, Chandler and Masvidal exchanged words, with Masvidal challenging Chandler to a fight in Miami in April.

Chandler responded to a fan’s question about calling out Masvidal, indicating he is open to the fight. Masvidal replied that the matchup could happen in Miami next April if Chandler is willing.
Masvidal has hinted at a spring return to his hometown and has mentioned potential opponents like Leon Edwards and Justin Gaethje.
