Although Millennia initially fell short as a competitor to Civilization 6, developers C Prompt Games have been diligently working on improvements. The future of the game is now looking more promising, with it appearing less underdeveloped.
The first expansion, “Ancient Worlds,” is scheduled for release on August 12th, priced at $9.99, £8.49, and €9.99, and will also be included in the Millennia Expansion Pass.
“Choose a new beginning for humanity, living off the land and finding the perfect place to start the story of society in Millennia: Ancient Worlds,” stated Paradox Interactive in a press release received from Millennia’s publisher.
Ancient Worlds will introduce more new content following several patches and updates since its March release that have addressed player concerns. C Prompt Games has released four major updates this year and plans to release two more alongside this expansion and the upcoming “Atomic Ambitions” DLC.
Further plans from C Prompt Games are outlined in the 2024 Roadmap.
Our review from March highlighted Millennia’s potential strengths and suggested that post-launch updates and expansions could lead to improved gameplay. The features listed in Ancient Worlds offer new options that enhance the gaming experience.
Ancient Worlds adds new options at the game start, including a potential new government type, a diplomacy-centered National Spirit, landmarks, and content inspired by early human civilization.
